A year ago, Chace Webster was a senior at Olympic High School without a single college football offer.
Now, he's the owner of the best single-season running back performance in West Sound history and headed to Ellensburg in early August for the start of Central Washington University's training camp. The Wildcats open the 2026 season Sept. 5 at Cal Poly.
Last season's Kitsap Sun football player of the year after posting single-season West Sound records for rushing yards (2,436) and rushing touchdowns (40), Webster is fully aware of his status as a freshman entering the college football world for the first time.
"Everybody is the best player at their (high) school," Webster said. "I've just got to go there and play. ... I'm definitely looking to come out of fall camp getting a decent amount of reps."
At 5-foot-11, 200 pounds, Webster feels like he's physically ready for the college…
