Real Madrid close in on Yan Diomande as PSG withdraw from race
Real Madrid are expected to reach an agreement to sign Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig, according to The Athletic .
Diomande had previously indicated a preference to join Paris Saint-Germain earlier this summer , but the Ligue 1 giants have reportedly withdrawn from negotiations.
PSG are not ready to meet Leipzig’s enormous valuation as well as the player’s salary demands.
Madrid are in the market for an elite forward, with Franco Mastantuono enduring a difficult debut season and Brahim Diaz looking to jump ship in search of playing time.
They have submitted a second offer worth €120 million for Diomande after their initial bid was turned down by Leipzig.
The La Liga club’s latest proposal is also expected to be rejected, but there is confidence on all sides a deal will be agreed soon.
