Training camp is a time when players begin to separate themselves from the pack in key position battles . The Los Angeles Rams ' roster is so stacked that most starting spots have already been determined, but there are important backup roles still up for grabs.
After the first block of practices this week, there's been a little bit of movement at a few positions. Leaders are emerging at backup quarterback and swing tackle, among other battles that are ongoing and starting to heat up.
Here's an update on five key competitions after four days of practice.
Backup quarterback This battle has gone kind of as expected. Stetson Bennett came in as the favorite over Ty Simpson and neither player has done anything to change that. Bennett is getting most of the second-team reps (and first-team reps when Matthew Stafford is out), with Simpson getting limited opportunities in practice.
