As the Pittsburgh Steelers kick off training camp in Latrobe, the team's secondary faces an immediate bump in the road. In a surprising blow, fans learned that one of the team's biggest defensive stars may not be on the field to start camp.
Pittsburgh beat reporter Nick Farabaugh shared the significant roster update on X, noting, "The Steelers announce they’ve placed CB Joey Porter Jr. on the PUP list."
The move lands the standout defensive back on the active/Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list as players report to training camp. While being placed on the active PUP list before the start of camp allows Porter to be removed at any point during the preseason, it serves as an early storyline to monitor for Pittsburgh’s defense.
