He breaks his opponent’s leg and gets a HISTORIC ban 🤯 He literally ended up in court over it!
Brazil may have just changed the rules on suspensions without even realizing it.
It all started on July 23 during the match between Internacional and Cruzeiro. With the visitors leading 1-0, Victor Gabriel was guilty of a horrible tackle on Gabriel Pec.
The verdict was unequivocal: a broken leg for the Cruzeiro player and a straight red for the Internacional one.
The story could have ended there with a standard suspension for Victor Gabriel, but no, it went much further.
It turns out that the Sixth Disciplinary Commission of the STJD (Superior Court of Sports Justice) deemed the usual punishment for violent play (one to six matches) insufficient given the severity of Gabriel Pec’s injury.
It therefore applied the aggravating circumstance provided for in Article 254 of the Brazilian Code…
