Training camp is finally upon us, and if nothing changes between now and the start of the regular season, the Philadelphia Eagles ' quarterback room appears fairly straightforward. Jalen Hurts remains the unquestioned starter. Veteran Andy Dalton provides one of the NFL's most experienced backup options , and Tanner McKee has spent the past several seasons developing into a reliable backup option.
McKee has occasionally drawn interest from quarterback-needy teams around the league. The uncertainty begins with seventh-round rookie Cole Payton . The rookie isn't expected to challenge anyone above him on the depth chart. Still, training camp and the preseason will determine whether the Eagles believe he's simply a developmental prospect or someone worth protecting on the initial 53-man roster .
