Asia and Africa react to FIFA privatisation proposal Following the announcement of the FIFA Forward Enterprise project, promoted by Gianni Infantino to sell commercial stakes to private investors, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) have made their official positions on the initiative public.
Disappointment and calls for transparency from the AFC From Kuala Lumpur, the AFC expressed its deep disappointment with the way the proposal was handled. The Asian body said it had not been consulted in advance on a matter of such importance for the future of the sport.
"Decisions that could reshape the commercial future of football require prior and thorough engagement with the confederations," the AFC said.
