A look back at the 1948 season for the Cardinals The 1948 season was great! After their 1947 championship, they were again in first place in their division, going 11-1. However, in the championship game, they were shut out 7-0 by the Philadelphia Eagles .
The Cardinals had the league's number one offense in yards and points, averaging 32.9 points per game. Their only regular-season loss was in Week 2 to the Chicago Bears , and then they rattled off 10 straight wins.
