Major League Baseball is celebrating America’s 250th anniversary by showcasing a baseball story from each of the 50 states, highlighting the people, places and traditions that have shaped the national pastime.
For Alabama, the choice was easy.
MLB’s “Baseball in America” summer series features Birmingham’s Rickwood Field , recognized as the oldest professional ballpark in the United States.
Opened in 1910, the historic stadium has welcomed generations of baseball legends and remains one of the country’s most significant landmarks in the sport’s history.
