The Vikings ' defense has enjoyed the presence of Harrison Smith ever since he was drafted back in 2012. The team enjoys his presence on and off the field, but at the age of 37, some things are just not the same as they used to be. As a result, the unsigned veteran is sitting on the side waiting for something to change or to retire.
On Wednesday, coach Kevin O'Connell said he recently spoke with the former first-round pick. However, the update he shared is not helpful to fans and the team waiting for a decision.
"Nothing has really changed."
The team has seemingly prepared for this based on how they are building out the defense.
