The United States military has carried out a “heavy wave of strikes” against Iran in response to this week's missile attacks on American forces as part of Tehran's Operation Nasr 2.
In an update Wednesday night, the U.S. Central Command announced that its assets struck dozens of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps targets across Iran.
The locations listed by CENTCOM include missile and drone facilities, military command centers, coastal surveillance and defense sites, and maritime capabilities.
Iranian state media reported three people were killed on Qeshm Island, while several other locations were also hit in the south and west of the country.
CENTCOM said the strikes were part of the campaign to further degrade threats posed by Iran and its proxies to U.S. forces, commercial shipping, and neighboring nations.
