Longtime Tennessee State athletic administrator Jennifer Bell was appointed interim athletic director July 24 following Mikki Allen being placed on leave , according to a school release.
TSU president Dwayne Tucker announced on July 23 that Allen, who has been TSU's athletic director since 2020, had been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation into a letter of no confidence submitted by six of the school's coaches earlier this summer.
Bell, a native of Clarksville, joined TSU athletics in 1991 as an assistant women's basketball coach under former head coach Teresa Phillips. After 11 years of coaching, Bell transitioned into athletics administration, where she served in leadership roles in compliance, student services and student-athlete development.
