LeBron James has chosen to continue his Hall of Fame career with the Philadelphia 76ers , a move that makes the team an immediate NBA championship contender.
The NBA's all-time leading scorer tweeted on July 24 his decision and reasoning as the Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers and 76ers were on his short list of teams.
"I believe I can help make the Philadelphia 76ers a championship team and I am so excited to energize a new fan base and start this incredible journey one last time," James tweeted. "Thank you LA. Miami I’ll forever love and Northeast Ohio will always home!"
ESPN's Shams Charania tweeted July 24 that James is signing a two-year deal with the 76ers for $8 million with a player option on the second year.
