Kon Knueppel, a rookie sensation for the Charlotte Hornets last season, recently spoke about his former teammate LaMelo Ball after the blockbuster trade that sent Ball and Josh Green to the Minnesota Timberwolves for a package headlined by Naz Reid and draft capital.
“He was great to be around every day, and so that’s already missed. Just the joy and energy he brought to the locker room. He’s loud, but he also comes in every day, and he says hello to everybody," said Knueppel. "So it’s cool to have people like that around."
Knueppel and Ball worked quite well together during his rookie campaign, as the duo finished first and second in 3-pointers made, combining for 545 triples. Without Ball running the Hornets offense, Knueppel will likely be forced into much tougher looks during his sophomore campaign.
