Seahawks UDFA Uso Seumalo made waves among rookies at training camp

Seattle Seahawks undrafted free agent rookie nose tackle Uso Seumalo has reportedly been catching the eye of the coaching staff at the beginning of training camp. @hawkblogger posted this YouTube short yesterday in which he said he’s heard “rumblings in and around the team” that they’re particularly excited about Seumalo.

Seumalo got a perfect storm to hit the ground running these past couple days. Training camp is still only for rookies until Friday, so it’s not as if he was the first choice behind Leonard Williams or Byron Murphy II. He’d still rank behind Jarran Reed ( who looks as strong as ever benching 4 plates yesterday ), Brandon Pili, and Rylie Mills when the team’s at full strength.

As far as rookie camp goes, Seumalo’s main competition at nose tackle was set to be seventh-round pick Deven Eastern. Unfortunately, Eastern was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP)…
