Lewis gave the Twins a big moment in a pivotal week. The Minnesota Twins saw themselves down to their final out against the Kansas City Royals in a pivotal spot on Tuesday night. Down by just one run with two runners on in a 2-1 game, they turned to one of their top bats with the game on the line.
Royce Lewis came up to the plate with runners on first and second. On a 1-1 pitch, he scorched a cutter deep to the right-center field gap, hitting the ball off the wall for a two-run walk-off triple and giving the Twins a moment they needed.
Suddenly, with five games to go until the trade deadline, the Twins now find themselves at .500 with a record of 54-54. More importantly, they own a realistic chance to make that push for contention.
Minnesota has stayed steady and consistent all year, despite some injuries attempting to hold them back. But one thing has been for sure for the Twins…
