New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Bryan Bresee suffered a knee injury on Day 1 of training camp, an injury that is feared to be a torn ACL, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Tests are still ongoing, but the expectation is that the former first-round pick will miss the entire 2026 season. Because Bresee's fifth-year option was exercised earlier this spring, he's under contract through 2027, but that's small comfort when he's likely losing an entire year to injury.
Bresee is one of the most important players in New Orleans' defensive front. The former first-round pick has developed into one of the team's top pass rushers. He entered training camp expected to play a significant role in Brandon Staley's defense after ranking fourth in quarterback pressures last season (30 of them, per Pro Football Focus charting).
