Report: Man City hold firm stance on Rodri situation amid Real Madrid interest Rodri contract talks put Manchester City on alert as Real Madrid circle
Manchester City remain hopeful of tying Rodri to a new deal, but there is growing awareness that the situation could yet develop into one of the major transfer stories of the window. According to the Guardian , City are optimistic ongoing discussions will end with an agreement, even as Real Madrid prepare to test their resolve.
Rodri’s current terms expire next June and, despite a proposed extension being on the table for some time, he has yet to sign. That has naturally invited attention. Real Madrid, previously viewed as unlikely to pursue the Spain international, have now shifted their position after a standout summer in which Rodri captained his country to World Cup glory and collected the Golden Ball.
