San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan was recently involved in a car accident that left him with severe injuries, including a broken nose and three broken ribs. While Shanahan is in stable condition and expected to return to the team before Week 1, he will be limited during training camp.
According to a report from ESPN, the 49ers will lean on a few assistants, including former Falcons head coach Raheem Morris , to help fill in for Shanahan over the next few weeks.
"Assistant head coach Chris Foerster will assume some of Shanahan's duties until he returns, though Lynch said it will be a group effort to fill in for Shanahan," ESPN's Adam Schefter and Nick Wagoner reported . "In addition to Foerster, coordinators Raheem Morris (defense), Klay Kubiak (offense) and Brant Boyer (special teams) will take on larger roles, according to Lynch."
