President Bola Tinubu has said that the problems in Sahel region, comprising Burkina Faso, Niger and Mali are contributing to the upsurge of insecurity in Nigeria.
The president made this assertion on Thursday when Oba Rashidi Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadan paid him a courtesy visit at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Tinubu stated that the terrorists who carried out the abduction of the Oriire schoolchildren and teachers wanted the Federal Government to release their members who were already arrested.
“That was one of their conditions outside of the money they were looking for. We said no deal, and we won't negotiate with criminals.
“They committed murder by killing one of the teachers, and we were ready to 'finish' with members of their families.
