When the Philadelphia Eagles selected Cameron Williams in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft , the initial projection seemed obvious. At 6-foot-5 and 317 pounds, Williams possessed the size and length teams covet at offensive tackle. Some even wondered if he could eventually develop into a long-term successor to Lane Johnson.
There's plenty of hope. This is an organization that developed a diamond in Jordan Mailata, someone who grew into one of the NFL's premier left tackles .
Williams is very intriguing, though. A year after he joined the Eagles as a late-round draftee, the Eagles have experimented with what may be a different vision. He spent time working at guard during spring practices, and the move could ultimately provide his best opportunity to carve out a meaningful role on one of the league's deepest offensive lines.
