College football media days can reveal the creative ways head coaches motivate their programs when games aren't being played. Minnesota coach P.J. Fleck shared an interesting anecdote about the way he decided to hold his group accountable this offseason.
Speaking at Big Ten Media Days, Fleck discussed the concept of "E pluribus unum," which in Latin means "of many become one."
"It's on our dollar bill. It's on our quarter. You should have seen that team meeting, talking Latin to your players," Fleck said about the unifying term.
Fleck took the exercise one step further to take ownership of what the idea really means.
"So we gave every single one of our players, because giving players money is pretty popular, we gave them a dollar bill and a quarter. I don't think they've ever seen either one of those, what they actually looked like, but E pluribus unum was on there and we had a team…
