Every NFL team wants stars. The Philadelphia Eagles want certainty. They didn't wait until the eve of training camp to extend Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis by accident. They didn't just secure two cornerstone defensive tackles. They also sent a message to every player hoping to earn a second contract.
Philadelphia takes care of its own.
General manager Howie Roseman revealed the organization entered the offseason hoping to secure both defensive tackles with long-term deals , reinforcing the franchise's long-standing commitment to building through the trenches.
"It's hard to find guys like that," Roseman said. Davis was extended in March . His good friend, Jalen Carter's deal, followed on the first day of camp . Timing and the market were both key.
