In a corresponding move, the team released defensive lineman Khalil Saunders.
Ferrell was a standout player for four seasons at Clemson — totaling 27 sacks in 45 games played — allowing him to be a top-5 pick for the Las Vegas Raiders upon turning pro. In four seasons with the Raiders, Ferrell amassed 10 sacks, 15 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
