Juan Soto was removed from Friday's game against the Dodgers, as the Mets pinch-hit Jorge Polanco for the slugger in the sixth inning.
The Mets later announced it was due to left calf soreness, and revealed after the 4-2 loss that he will get imaging done Saturday.
“He just had a recurrence of symptoms in the left calf. We certainly hoped we were behind it and done talking about this, but he felt it pushing off going to second base," interim manager Andy Green said. "At this point, we’re likely to get an image to see where he’s at. This has nagged him for a week now. We know it’s frustrating for him, frustrating for us and everybody.”
While Green wouldn't say if an IL stint is possible, he did say whenever imaging is done, there is some "concern," but they will wait for the imaging to return to decide on next steps.
