In January, Liverpool agreed a £2.6M deal to sign Austrian centre half Ifeanyi Ndukwe from Austria Wien, with the deal finalized this summer when the rising star youngster turned 18 and he became eligible for international transfer. He made his first appearance for the Reds in their pre-season win over Sunderland on Saturday.
However, he is now expected to be loaned to a club in Europe this season—and perhaps most likely will return to Austria Wien for the 2026-27 campaign—after failing to secure a work visa due to the fact that outside of one first team appearance in the Austrian league he has so far only played at the youth levels for both club and country.
