The injury bug has hit the team again this summer after the Washington Wizards announced that Jamir Watkins suffered a torn left ACL in summer league, and could potentially miss the entire 2026-27 season.
Watkins, who is currently on a two-way contract , suffered the ACL tear during Washington's summer league opener against the Utah Jazz where he was tasked with the defensive assignment of guarding number two overall pick Darryn Peterson.
Watkins underwent a successful surgery on his left knee earlier today, which is encouraging to hear considering ACL tears could be career ending or altering.
While Watkins is expected to miss a majority of the regular season, doctors haven't ruled out the possibility of him suiting up for Washington towards the backend of the season.
