CHICAGO — For Michigan defensive tackle Trey Pierce, returning to downtown Chicago for the 2026 Big Ten Media Days on Thursday was more than just a routine media obligation. Standing at 6-2 and 310 pounds, the Brother Rice High School alumnus returned to his hometown not just as a veteran anchor for the Wolverines' defensive line, but as an official team leader taking center stage.
Alongside head coach Kyle Whittingham , quarterback Bryce Underwood , and running back Jordan Marshall , Pierce met with national and local media during afternoon breakout sessions at the annual kickoff event. For a player who originally committed elsewhere before flipping to Michigan and quietly grinding his way into a starting role, taking the podium in Chicago marked a full-circle moment.
