The Philadelphia Eagles and All-Pro defensive tackle Jalen Carter have agreed to a lucrative contract extension.
The Eagles announced the deal on Tuesday. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter , the extension is for four years and $152 million with $106 million guaranteed and escalators that could push it to $160 million. The contract makes him the highest paid defensive tackle in the NFL.
The deal kicks in in 2028 and keeps Carter under contract with the Eagles through the 2031 season. The two sides got it done with two years remaining on his rookie contract, including his fifth-year option for 2027 valued at $27.1 million.
Carter, 25, was the No. 9 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Georgia. He was runner-up for Rookie of the Year in 2023. He’s been named to the Pro Bowl in both seasons since and was named second-team All-Pro in 2024, the season the Eagles won the Super Bowl.
