Confirmed: Real Madrid suffers muscle injury in pre-season; out for six weeks
Real Madrid have officially announced that defender Raul Asencio has suffered a thigh injury during pre-season.
“Following tests carried out today on our player Raul Asencio by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the rectus femoris of his right leg. His recovery will be monitored,” the club statement read.
Six weeks out
While the statement from the Merengues does not specify a recovery time, an update from journalist Arancha Rodriguez , citing club sources, claims that Asencio will now be sidelined for a period of six weeks.
This could cause hindrance to Real Madrid’s plans of wanting to offload the academy graduate before the summer transfer window closes.
