The Blue Jackets are parting ways with Bob McElligott, their longtime radio play-by-play broadcaster.

While announcing a shift from separate TV and radio broadcasts to simulcasting its TV broadcast onto radio, the team said McElligott's contract wasn't renewed.
“Bob McElligott has made significant contributions to the Blue Jackets organization on the air and in the community over the past 17 years,” Blue Jackets vice president of business intelligence and broadcasting Marc Gregory said in a statement. “Bob’s voice was at the heart of many of our club’s unforgettable moments and helped shape memories that will live on for years to come. We sincerely thank him and wish him nothing but success moving forward.”
