Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase engaged in some pushing and shoving with teammates July 29 during the first day of training camp ahead of the 2026 NFL season.
The scuffle broke out around 11:10 a.m., according to the Cincinnati Enquirer . Chase, in the middle of the scuffle, emerged from the crowd of Bengals players with the helmet of cornerback DJ Turner II. Chase hurled the helmet down the field, then engaged in another spirited conversation with Bengals cornerback Jalen Davis.
"Nothing to it. Brothers fight all the time," Turner told reporters. "It's just competitive, that's all it is. Everybody trying to win. It's just competitive."
Chase is scheduled to speak in a press conference July 30.
"If the intensity's not great on day one, then you're in trouble," quarterback Joe Burrow said after practice.
