The North Carolina Tar Heels football program is kicking off training camp on Thursday, ushering the second season of the Bill Belichick era.
After a year in which the Tar Heels went 4-8 overall, it was a disappointing start to the Belichick era. As we hit the offseason, the hope was that the program could turn this thing around and get back on track. Then Monday happened.
The program announced that general manager Michael Lombardi has been placed on paid leave. UNC has put out another statement on the situation on Thursday , but it's still a matter that they will keep under wraps until the situation is resolved.
As Belichick met the media on Thursday, he was asked about what the Tar Heels are doing with Lombardi being on leave in terms of the roster and general manager duties.
