The San Francisco 49ers on Sunday made a roster move to add a defensive lineman the day training camp opened.
Defensive lineman Kevin Givens re-signed with San Francisco, and the 49ers officially waived DL Evan Anderson in a corresponding move.
Givens has been with the 49ers since 2019 when he joined the club as an undrafted free agent. He was a free agent this offseason who went unsigned until the day the 49ers began camp. In seven seasons with San Francisco he's played in 70 games with 14 starts. Givens has 92 tackles and 8.0 sacks with two fumble recoveries during his tenure in San Francisco.
To make room for Givens on the 90-man roster the 49ers waived Anderson, who signed with the 49ers following the 2024 draft. He played in 12 games with one start as a rookie and posted 24 tackles with 1.0 sacks and a fumble recovery. Anderson failed to carve out a role in 2025 and spent the…
