Babe Ruth is obviously the most famous of those, but the Yankees picked up several key players from them, including pitchers Waite Hoyt, Herb Pennock, Carl Mays, and Bullet Joe Bush.
Another name on that list is Sad Sam Jones, whose acquisition ended up being anything but for the Yankees.
