Photo by Gongora/NurPhoto via Getty Images Barcelona fans were thrilled to watch eight Blaugrana stars lift the World Cup trophy with Spain in America this summer, but one sad and notable absence was that of Fermín López.
The midfielder, who had a brilliant season at the club level and was a lock to make the Spanish squad for the tournament, missed out at the last minute due to a foot injury that ruled him out through the summer.
Fermín is now back training for Barça as they stay in England for the next couple of weeks, and he spoke to Catalan radio to reveal his feelings about missing out on the World Cup and when he plans to return to action.
“It was the worst summer of my career. I got through it thanks to my family, my partner, and my friends. I needed help. I already had it before, but my [mental] coach helped me a lot to get through it.
