On Friday, future Basketball Hall of Famer LeBron James announced that he was joining the Philadelphia 76ers for the 2026-27 season. It's a two-year deal that will pay James a shockingly low $3.9 million this season.
As James indicated on social media, this decision was not about money, and he's clearly telling the truth about that. James, evidently, still loves playing the game at the highest level and wants to compete for a championship with a fourth team.
If he can bring a title to championship-starved Philadelphia, that will only continue to strengthen his overall legacy.
With James, Jaylen Brown, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, the 76ers are certainly one of the favorites heading into the new season.
