I have seen this kind of friendly countless times, when Newcastle United have had good, bad and indifferent first choice teams.
The problem with these fitness exercises, these meaningless kick abouts, is that people are asked to pay £25 to watch.
Gateshead sound like they are in a desperate state financially and in truth, that is pretty much always the case. So I don’t really blame them charging that kind of price, any kind of price, people aren’t forced to pay it.
