LOVES PARK, Ill (WTVO) — It was the battle of the undefeated at Rivets Stadium on Saturday in the Women’s Baseball World Cup Group Stages. Team USA (3-0) faced off against Team Canada (3-0) for the first ticket into the Women’s Baseball World Cup Finals next year.
Team USA would get the ball rolling early, as Alex Hugo got USA on the board first with a 2-rbi single up the middle of the infield. Ashton Lansdell followed it up with an RBI single for herself. Team USA would score three runs in the first inning.
The game would sit at three to nothing until the third inning, when Amira Hondras would get a hard hit into right field, scoring Ashton Lansdell for another RBI single.
