Chairman of Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Nura Abdullahi, has been abducted by armed terrorists after an attack on his residence in the early hours of Saturday.
The attack, which also claimed the lives of two police officers, a local vigilante, and a civilian, triggered a swift response from troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, who rescued five members of the council chairman’s family and launched an operation to secure his release.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the Media Information Officer of Joint Task Force (North West) Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, the military said the terrorists overpowered the chairman’s security detail before whisking him away.
