The 2026 Formula 1 season has seen a massive resurgence for the Mercedes squad. With 19-year-old rookie sensation Andrea Kimi Antonelli currently leading the Drivers’ Championship and George Russell sitting comfortably in third, the Silver Arrows have seemingly found a perfect harmony. Naturally, with such a competitive car, rumors regarding Max Verstappen potentially jumping ship to Brackley have continued to swirl.
However, Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff has officially poured cold water on any immediate blockbuster lineup changes.
As shared by Race+ , Wolff was directly asked about the prospect of pairing Verstappen with Antonelli. While he didn’t completely rule it out for the future, he made it clear that uprooting the current team environment would be a mistake.
