The Escalatory Escalator
A s the shadow of conflict lengthens across the Middle East, the United States finds itself cornered into a strategic paradox. With the clock ticking toward a politically precarious midterm cycle and a domestic economy buckling under the weight of persistent inflation, the administration faces a triad of military choices regarding Iran—each more dangerous than the last. Yet, upon closer inspection, what appears to be a spectrum of aggressive options is, in reality, a narrowing funnel leading toward a costly and unpredictable quagmire.
