The 2026 Red River Showdown is going to have a little more heat to it on the second Saturday of October. And not because we're predicting excessive temperatures in the Cotton Bowl. But because former Texas wide receiver Parker Livingstone crossed the Red River to join the Sooners in the winter transfer portal window.
Asked at SEC media days about facing his former player, Steve Sarkisian didn't mince words.
“I mean, I hope we kick his (butt)," Sarkisian said of Livingstone. "It’s the Red River Rivalry. He chose to go there. He’s on the other side. That’s the way the game goes.”
It wouldn't matter whether Livingstone was a former player of Sarkisian's or not; the goal would still be the same. Provide a butt whooping to the Sooners.
