Troops from 6 Brigade Nigerian Army Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke in Jalingo, Taraba State, have rescued two kidnapped victims at Lande Jessi village in Lau Local Government Area of the state.
The troops acted promptly to distress calls leading to the rescue of the two kidnapped victims.
Lieutenant Umar Muhammad, Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations, 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, said the operation that led to the rescue was in response to credible intelligence the Army received on kidnapping activities within the Lande Jessi areas in the state.
Lieutenant Muhammad explained that the operation, which took place in the early hours of 26th July 2026, followed reports that armed criminal elements had invaded Tashan Musa and Barkindan Fulani villages, abducting two people and carting away food items.
