Schalke and Edin Dzeko reach agreement on one-year Bundesliga contract Kicker reports that Schalke 04 and Edin Dzeko have reached an agreement on a new contract. The two camps were reportedly close to an agreement ever since Maximilian Wöber’s signing left some additional room in the S04 budget. Now, all the figures have been settled. Kicker notes that formalities will nevertheless prevent official confirmation of Dzeko’s participation in the upcoming Bundesliga campaign until early next week.
The agreement clears one of Schalke’s most important outstanding personnel questions ahead of their return to the top flight. Dzeko’s experience, leadership and penalty-box presence should provide head coach Miron Muslic with a focal point as die Königsblauen prepare for life back in the Bundesliga.
