Several villages and towns across the governorates of Qalyubia, the Red Sea, Port Said, Sharqia, and Minya are experiencing a major crisis due to prolonged power outages lasting for hours at irregular intervals.
The blackouts, which occurred without prior warning to residents, have sparked widespread anger and resentment—particularly amid soaring temperatures, rising humidity, and the intense summer heat of July. Meanwhile, officials from electricity supply companies attributed the power instability during this period to extreme temperatures and increased strain on the grid.
Residents called for the immediate intervention of governors and members of parliament to swiftly contain the crisis and transparently announce its causes and mitigation plans.
