The Cleveland Browns ponied up to the table and acquired the offensive mind that they believed could lead one of the youngest offensive rosters to become one of the most explosive in the league. That man was Todd Monken.
If we rewind seven months to the end of the 2025 season, the Browns just put the finishing touches on an incredibly painful season in which they scored 16.4 points per game, ranked 31st in the league. It certainly wasn't one man's fault, but former head coach Kevin Stefanski was the fall guy, and he packed his bags.
Cleveland decided against the young candidates in favor of the older, wiser, more seasoned Todd Monken. The search was on for what was clearly an offensive-minded coach.
