The Ondo State Police Command has commenced investigation into a disturbing footage of officer threatening to slap and detain a traveller at a checkpoint in the state.
DAILY POST had reported that an officer of the Nigeria Police sparked outrage on social media on Friday after he was captured in a video telling a motorist that he would have arrested and detained him if he was Igbo.
The incident, which has been widely shared online, reportedly involved a Nigerian who had just returned from the United Kingdom and was stopped by police officers at a checkpoint for alleged extortion.
Reacting, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh said the command took note of the viral video with serious concern.
