Major General Everest Okoro has officially assumed duty as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 6 Division, Nigerian Army, and Land Component Commander of Joint Task Force, Operation DELTA SAFE.
He took over from Major General Emmanuel Emekah during a change of command ceremony held at the Division’s Headquarters in Port Harcourt.
The development was announced in a statement signed by the Acting Deputy Director, 6 Division Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Umar Adam.
In his farewell address, Major General Emekah expressed appreciation to officers and soldiers of the Division for their discipline, loyalty and support throughout his tenure.
