The Green Bay Packers made a franchise-altering move on eve of the 2025 NFL season when they acquired star edge rusher Micah Parsons in a trade with the Dallas Cowboys.
The trade had a major impact on the publicly-owned Packers' bottom line, as the team reported a rare operating loss for their previous fiscal year, which ended on March 31, 2026.
The Packers revealed the state of their finances in a story posted to their official website . The team officially reported an operating loss of $1.1 million after reporting a net gain of $83.7 million the previous fiscal year.
The major swing was credited to a "significant change in operational costs" that included a unique "combination of player acquisitions and departures."
